Sony VAIO X laptop is a thin laptop with a stylish outlook. It weighs 1.6 pounds with a two-cell battery. For processing it uses 2 GHz Intel Atom Z550 processor with the support of 2 GB RAM. For storage, it uses 64 GB solid-state drive. But there is no optical drive. It comes with 11.1 inches display with integrated Intel GMA 500 graphics. Update is required for better performance. No doubt, we all want better performance from a computer. An updated version of the software gives you different benefits like fixing old problems, avoiding conflicts, advanced features etc. Updated system is more reliable to fight against the harmful malicious wares. Updated software is compatible with the latest software and hardware is more user-friendly.
Checking for update and Updating Windows XP
You can update Windows XP operating system through manual and automatic process. For the manual process, go to the ‘Control Panel’, ‘Performance and Maintenance’, and ‘System’. There click on the ‘Automatic Update’ tab. Then select the option that is suitable for you. Choose the ‘Download updates for me, but let me choose when to install them’. Windows will automatically download the available updates and then will prompt you to install. If you want to install the downloaded update, then click ‘Install’. If you do not want, then click ‘Details’ and then clear the check boxes nest to the update that you do not want to install.
For automatic updates, go to the Automatic Update and select the ‘Automatic’ option that is recommended by the operating system. This option will provide you an updated system, but you need not to install or download anything manually. Windows will automatically download the available updates and then automatically install the downloaded updates. And Windows will download the updates when you are online and doing your usual tasks.
