QWERTY keyboard malfunctions
As Sony VAIO X series is shipped along with QWERTY keyboard, when operating it has been observed that the apostrophe is typed in it appears to be a different symbol. Eventually it has been observed with a lot of other keys as well, which creates a lot of inconvenience while working on a word document. The resolution of the issue will be to check the device driver. Check on the QWERTY keyboard driver and to do that click on ’Start’, ‘Run’ and type in devmgmt.msc.The device manger window must appear select the keyboard driver, right click and uninstall. Restart the system, the driver must automatically get loaded back and the keyboard must start working.
Electro static touchpad functioning intermittently
To avoid the issues with touchpad it is important to have a good upkeep of the touchpad, the intermittent functioning of the touchpad can be addressed by cleaning the surface of the touchpad by lint free cloth dipped in alcohol. Plug in a mouse to check and isolate the issue of whether it lies with the operating system or the touchpad. From the device manager window reinstalling the drivers could also be of great help and if the drivers require an update, update the drivers with the latest drivers from device manager window. There can be multiple reasons behind the touchpad stop working in Sony VAIO X series and to name a few it could be driver issues, connection problem, misuse and lot more. Driver problem could be a resultant of virus infection or driver being removed from the system and if the driver is removed the touchpad feature will not have the intermediate to speak to the system and thus the input device will stop working. To troubleshoot that one can check on the device manager windows and track the device driver status.
The AC adaptor does not charge the battery
Even the AC adaptor light is lit on and seems operating; the battery would not take up power. In such a situation the first step will be to check the physical connectivity of battery, AC adaptor and power adaptor. Remove the battery from the system and reinsert the battery. Check for any physical damage which could lead to the issues and try another set of AC adaptor to charge the battery. If it seems to be a hardware issue, flashing the BIOS can help the battery retain charge and issue being fixed.
