Tips to connect to an external port
On the side panel of your PC are two types of ports, i.e. VGA output and HDMI ports. This can be used to connect to a projector. To do so, switch off the computer and connect the VGA cable on the port and attach it to the projector. Switch on the laptop and turn on the projector. Upon booting, right click on an empty part of the desktop and in the popup menu that appears, select monitor and point to the screen output i.e. to output images on the screen and the external monitor simultaneously or just the external monitor alone. Alternatively, you can output the images and sound produced from the laptop to a HDTV with the original quality using the HDMI port. Follow the same procedure but in this case, use the HDMI port that is in the opposite laptop panel of VGA port.
Things to keep in mind while doing so
When purchasing the laptop, the VGA cable and the HDMI cables are sold separately. Moreover, when using the HDMI port it is worth noting that direct current is passed through the HDMI cable and in case of a power surge, your PC may be short circuited. To avoid such instances, use a power surge protector when using the port.
To ensure that your computer is compatible with a range of external monitors, make sure to update the supporting programs, i.e. device drivers.
