How to connect external monitors
In order to connect to an external monitor, the manufacturer has included to external connectivity options, i.e. VGA Output a 15-hole port on the side panel of the laptop and HDMI Connection Output that slightly resembles the USB port structure. The former allows you to connect your PC to either an over head projector or to an analogue TV set. However, you will need to purchase a VGA cable as it is not supplied with the purchase of the laptop as an accessory. Foremost, shutdown the PC and then attach the cable to the VGA Output port. Attach the same to the projector and switch on the PC. There is no need to install a driver as the whole process is plug_and_play. The latter is used when one wants a digital output on sound and images generated by the PC. Follow the same procedure but instead of a VGA cable, use HDMI cable to do the connection.
What to keep in mind while doing so
When using HDMI Connection Output, chances of short circuiting your laptop are high. Direct current is passed through the cable. If there are power surges during the process, then there must be shortcircuits. It is thus, important to utilize a surge protector each time you are utilizing HDMI Connection port.
As stated earlier, there is no need to install a supporting program, i.e. device drivers each time you want to use an external monitor as the two ports support plug-and-play feature. Nevertheless, it is important that you update the preinstalled drivers on the occasional basis so as to be par with the difference in technology that may exits in different devices.
