If wireless modem or router is not installed correctly, then the connection might also get some problems. Sometimes, you might not get as much speed you expect from a wireless connection because different connections have different speed. The problem might arise because of malware infections or incorrect configuration settings.
There are some tips to prevent such issues:
- Check the laptop
If you have to determine the speed of wireless connection, you can use third-party software to monitor the speed. Then transfer a file while running the NetMeter to see the current speed of the connection. If this speed is not enough, then you might change the wireless connection.
When you notice that the wireless connection is not working properly, you have to locate the devices which are interfering with the working of the network. This can be done with a Netstumbler. The Netstumbler will give you a report on the wireless networks in your range. If there is any incompatibility with the network channel and wireless channel, it could result in slow speed or disconnection of wireless network. So, you have to change wireless channel of the network.
Check the laptop
When you see any problem with wireless connection you have to connect your laptop through a wire. Check the speed it gets and confirm that the laptop is not having any problem. If you are using an old laptop, it might not provide much speed. It is because the old laptop cannot process the data as fast as you’re sending it. So, it is better for you to upgrade your laptop and its components. time.
