- Signal interruption problem
- Driver problem
Wireless problem but network is fine
It might occur that the networking signal is fine but you are not getting the connection with your wireless device. To prepare yourself beforehand for this problem you need to buy a wireless router which has plugs for the Ethernet cables. This will act as a backup when you find that the network is fine but there is no connection. Then you can attach wires to find whether the laptop can access the network. Also, you can try solving the wireless connection problem by turning on and off the router. If you have wireless built-in adapter and wireless card or USB wireless adapter, then you should reboot your laptop. This should solve the problem.
Signal interruption problem
Remember that the signal you are getting from the wireless device is a radio signal that uses a frequency of 2.4 GHz. However, there might be many items in your house that can use the same frequency. These items include cordless phone, toys with radio control, baby monitors and so on. Therefore, to prevent the problem you need to keep these items away from the laptop. Also it might happen that the radio waves is getting interrupted due to the wireless network used by your neighbor, check it and if it is the cause then keep a distance of at least 300 feet. Also you might get a wireless repeater and put it between your laptop and the router so that your laptop can get the radio waves.
If after checking the signal and the wireless router you find that both are fine but still you fail to get the Internet connection, then you should try out the following steps. First, go to the 'Start' button and select 'Device Manager'. If there you could not find the green network adapter icon, then you need to install the driver of the wireless card or the adapter. If you find the network adapter icon but with a red 'X' or yellow triangle with an exclamation mark beside it, then you need to remove the driver and reinstall it.
