It uses MOTION EYE technology for face-tracking and is of 1.3 MP. The motion eye helps in detecting human faces while capturing photos and recording videos and auto-focuses the webcam over the face. This is especially useful while chatting or video conferencing, as it takes the burden of adjusting the camera. You can store your photos and videos in “Media Gallery” and access them quickly with just a click, through the "VAIO” button in your Sony Vaio CW Series Notebook.

The software gives options to add effects to your photos and videos. The Adobe® Photoshop® Elements 7.0 provided with your notebook lets you edit and organize your photos with ease. Another software for your Sony VAIO CW Series webcam is VAIO Movie Story, which helps you create home videos and slideshows. The photos and videos can be indexed and stored in the “Media Gallery”, from where they might be accessed with a single touch on the “VAIO®” button.
Though it is really easy working with your Sony VAIO CW Series webcam, you might still find some difficulties getting the software installed properly. Sometimes, the videos might not turn out to be of the same quality as the still photographs you take. In this case, go to the “Settings” panel and check the “Low Light” box. You can now shoot high-quality videos with the camera in your Sony VAIO CW Series notebook. Another issue is not being able to use the camera with live messengers. To resolve this problem, uninstall the driver for the camera and save the configuration. Reopen the “Hardware Manager” and “Search for Changed Hardware” in “Action” tab. You will find “Sony Visual Communication Camera” again in the hardware list. Reinstall it and update the messenger settings to enable the camera. This will resolve the issue.
