AC adapter in Sony® VAIO CW Series
Sony Vaio CW Series Laptops come with Lithium ion batteries that have a lifetime of up to 4 hours. Various AC adapters ranging from 19 V to 10.5 V for Sony VAIO CW series are available in the market. The laptop AC adapter is an important peripheral without which you cannot recharge your battery. The purpose of AC adapter is to convert the AC current from the main supply to DC current. Every laptop functions with the DC current. It is not necessary that your laptop should always have an internal battery to work on. If there is an AC adapter, you can connect the laptop to the main supply via AC adapter.
- Adapter Brick not receiving Power
- Adapter Jack Problem
Sometimes, the AC adapter might overheat after using for some time. This happens because your internal battery in the laptop might be drawing too much current. You need to check whether there is any problem with the internal battery or with the AC adapter itself. You need to remove the battery and plug the adapter directly into your system. If it is working fine, the problem might be with your battery. You need to check the battery too.
Adapter Brick not receiving Power
Even if you plug the adapter properly, sometimes the light on the adapter would not blink. This indicates that the adapter brick is not receiving any power. That might be because of any damage on the connecting cord or jack. Sometimes pins and bracket of the adapter jack might be broken. In that case, you need to replace the jack, connecting code or AC adapter itself.
Due to regular plugging and unplugging of the adapter, it is common for an adapter jack to get loose from the motherboard. It happens because people usually pull the cable instead of the adapter’s plug. If there is a loose contact between the motherboard and adapter jack, it will not charge the battery uninterruptedly. Then you need to continually wiggle the plug till the adapters light turns on.
