Bring Back your Laptop to Factory Settings using the VAIO Recovery Center

Primarily, VAIO Recovery Center tool allows you to perform a full reinstallation of your laptop’s operating system. And it restores the laptop to its factory settings.Â However, before performing a system recovery, always make sure to disconnect all the external devices connected to your laptop, such as printer, camera, network cable, or external storage device like flash driver or hard drive.
How to perform a system recovery using the VAIO Recovery Center
Step 1: Click on the ‘Start’ button and select ‘Help and Support’.
(If you don’t find the link on the ‘Start’ menu, under ‘Help and Support’, re-enable the link in ‘Taskbar and Start Menu Properties’ window).
Step 2: Now in the ‘Windows Help and Support’ windows, click on ‘Backup & Recovery’.
Step 3: Under ‘VAIO Recovery Center’, click on ‘Launch VAIO Recovery Center’.
Step 4: Go to ‘Choose a program’ and select an option from:
- Windows Backup and Restore
- VAIO Hardware Diagnostics
- Reinstall Programs or Drivers
- Restore C: Drive
- Restore Complete System
- Create Recovery Discs
- Wipe and Erase Data
If you choose ‘Restore C: Drive’ to fully restore your laptop, follow the next steps.
Step 5: Click on the button labeled ‘Star’ and tick mark the box next to ‘Skip’.
Step 6: Click on ‘Next’.
Step 7: After that tick mark the box next to ‘I Understand’. This means that you know that all the files from your C: drive will be deleted.
Step 8: You will get a ‘Start’ button, click on it. Wait till the recovery applications get installed and once done click on ‘Finish’.
Step 9: Keep following the instructions on the screen to finish reinstallation of Windows operating system on your laptop.
