Sony® to make a movie based on Steve Jobs Biography
We have already seen a movie inspired by the concept and success of Facebook, now it is time for Apple and Steve Jobs to take the stage. According to sources, Sony is planning to make a movie based on the biography of Steve Jobs, written by Walter Issacson. Rumors have it that Sony is also courting Aaron Sorkin as the screenplay writer. Aaron Sorkin is not a new name in the tech world; he was the one who wrote the screenplay for 'The Social Network' - the movie on Facebook and its founder Mark Zuckerberg.
Aaron Sorkin - the man who won an Academy Award for 'The Social Network' - has a strong bonding with Sony. Sony has produced two of Sorkin's works: Moneyball, the latest movie he penned and the second is 'The Social Network'. He shot to fame for his work in 'West Wing' and 'A Few Good Men'.
LA Times has cited a source stating “briefed on the project but not authorized to speak publicly” and that Sorkin is shortlisted as a screenwriter for Sony's new movie, but no decision has been made yet.
Aaron Sorkin is known for his witty dialogs and knowledge about choosing the appropriate male protagonists in his movies. But, there are some reasons due to which he might not work on this project. His previous movie, 'The Social Network', which was also a tech-based movie, might stop him from writing the screenplay for this movie. He might not want people to tag him as a writer for geeky tech movies.
News has it that Sorkin also knew Steve Jobs and that he had also penned down his thoughts on him in the Newsweek.
Nothing has been confirmed yet about the rumor of Sorkin writing the script for Sony cinematic adaption of Steve Jobs' biography. However, this idea can bring smiles upon the faces of all Apple and Steve Jobs fans, if it comes true. Now, it all depends on Sony whether to let it fade just as a rumor or make it a reality.
