The video-streaming service from Sony, Sony Crackle has now made a debut on XBOX Live video network. The main motive behind such a step is to allow Sony ad-supported channel access to major subscribers of XBOX live. The number includes around 40 million subscribers that are spread across the major regions like U.S., U.K., Canada and Australia.
Eric Berger, executive VP of digital networks for Sony Pictures Television, says “Unlike subscription services like Netflix and Hulu Plus, Crackle lets viewers watch one-off feature films like Talladega Nights, TV shows like Seinfeld, and a range of originally produced Crackle series for free with ads.
Crackle has got a great platform now to launch itself in the connected TV market.
Crackle is a Sony Pictures Entertainment owned studio that airs video content from Sony library. It also streams syndicated content from YouTube, AOL, MySpace, Hulu.
