Sony® redesigned PlayStation Home, will be launching this autumn
Sony PlayStation Home or Home is a virtual 3D social gaming network for PlayStation 3 that allows you to create avatars, stroll through polygonal marketplaces, decorate apartments and chat with friends. After three years of its release, Sony is now planning to update it.
The reason behind this redesign of Home is to let you connect with the world of hundreds of games in Home faster and in a better way. PlayStation Home was launched in 2008 and is used by more than 23 million users worldwide. Its redesign will be a great step in the evolution of platform and will let you play many free-to-play games as per your interests. The redesign includes the creation of ‘Hub’ that integrates games, community events, user-generated content, quests, shopping and more. You would be able to ‘transport’ your animated characters to game districts with themes like Action District, Sportswalk, Pier Park and Adventure District.
The redesigned Home is expected to be released this autumn and will include large-scale group play games in addition with avatar features. It will also serve as a meta game that will track points earned from in-game achievements. You will find all of the action games in a territory known as the Action District while arcade and carnival-style games will be found in a waterfront boardwalk area called Pier Park.
Along with this, Sony is also planning an update to its core client, which provides user experience in PlayStation Home. It will provide a more streamlined experience upon login with separate tracks for new and regular Home users.
Indeed Sony has come up with a smart decision to redesign Home. Are you ready to explore hundreds of games on PlayStation Home, but with a difference?
