Sneak peek into Sony Xperia Z price leak
After an inadvertently leaked images of Sony Xperia Z on Sony mobile website, the latest set of leaks reveal the pricing details of the latest smartphone that Sony has long being keeping under the covers for CES 2013.
According to a Thai Blog, the price for this latest smartphone offering from Sony is set around 19,990 Baht, which comes up to around $660. However, the blog post also states that the pricing is confined to Thailand and will vary in other regions depending on Sony's global pricing strategy.
Rumors surrounding Sony Xperia Z have been around for quite a while now. It started with a set ofÂ benchmark leaks about Sony working on a 5-inch device, under the codename Odin or Yuga, followed by the details about the device'sÂ specs.Â The rumors were then abuzz about the smartphone's name being changed toÂ Sony Xperia ZÂ and then that the makers will debut the device at CESÂ 2013.

Apparently, the latest smartphone from Sony packs a 5-inch display with 1080p (1920 x 1080 pixels) resolution and runs on Android 4.1.1 Jelly Bean. It is powered by a quad-core Snapdragon S4 Pro processor that offers 2GB RAM and 16GB internal storage. However, the memory is expandable to 128GB. Apart from this, it offers a 12-megapixel rear camera, Micro USB card, 802.11 a/b/g/n in both 2.4GHz and 5GHz modes, and Bluetooth 4.0 for Wi-Fi connectivity.
The phone is rumored to be available in March. However, official information about its technical specs and price will be available once CES 2013 kicks off, which is just around the corner.
